Dr Bonfanti was on the medical team at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and subsequently for other international competitions. She teaches courses on Joint Pathologies and Radiology at the Graduate School of Podiatry (HES). Her in-depth knowledge of rehabilitation practices ensures that an optimal recovery for our patients following surgical procedure and for any other musculoskeletal pathology, whether sports-related or otherwise.
Silvia Bonfanti graduated from Medicine and Surgery in 2005. She went on to study at the University of Barcelona in Spain and the University of Pavia in Italy. In 2006, she joined the Geneva University Hospitals as an in-house resident in the Physical Medicine and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Unit and the Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, where she remained until 2011. She started specific training in Sports Medicine in 2010 and was certified by the Swiss Medical Association (FHM) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2013. In 2011, she worked as a physician in the Sports Medicine Unit of the Vaud University Hospital (CHUV), which helped further her knowledge in this field.
